Advanced Realism Color Tattoo Course-Advanced Realism in Color is the style that we consider to be the most difficult to master in all of tattooing. This is not a beginner course for artists who are just starting out, you should already be a well seasoned tattoo artist with a very good understanding of all styles of tattooing, and an advanced skill and ability in Black and Gray realism. Once you master color realism, you probably have the right to call yourself a tattooing master, and while it’s not always the case, a mastery of color realism means that you can probably handle every other tattooing style. Color realism certainly isn’t for everyone and not everyone will reach a mastery level in this style, but if you have the opportunity to learn from some of the greats in the industry, we suggest you take it because it’ll separate you from the tens of thousands of tattoo artists who hasn’t. A must have in your arsenal we aren’t sure of because so many successful artists can not, but to have it in your arsenal would be very impressive. Must have your own tattooing equipment to attend this course. Very minimal book work, mostly hands-on and a step by step guide on the principles of the style. We will cover how to create the artwork, the stencil, what tools are best to use, and of course the technique.
Color realism tattoos is a tattoo style where accurately portrayed colors create a sense of space and form. The actual color of an object, or ‘local color’, is held secondary to how that color interacts with surrounding light sources that may alter the look of the original color. Warm light of the sun, cool light from the sky, and warm reflected light bouncing off other objects are all examples of how a local color may be affected by its location in space. To master the art of color realism is extremely impressive, but to master it with a tattoo machine is absolute magic.
Many people believe that the color realism style is the most difficult to master which is why we believe that to the tattoo artist who has mastered it can truly call themselves a Master Tattoo Artist. The way you mix inks and blend colors is truly a craft in itself, the needles, machines, and techniques are an even more complex craft, and without the true understanding of them all, mastery becomes almost impossible.
